Last month, we hosted our annual venue showcase at the Hall at Fauntleroy, with an incredible team of vendors and friends, both old and new! Members of our community came together to experience a fun and informative fundraising-style event that provided them with a glimpse into their special day, whether it be a future fundraiser or wedding. We wanted people to walk away from the showcase with a sense of direction and excitement!
For the first time, we invited non-profit planners to reimagine the space, providing a fresh and diverse perspective of our historic venue. In years prior, we had only wedding planners in both our rooms. We collaborated with GSF Events who planned the Emerald Room, upstairs and Shine Event Design who planned the Vashon Room, downstairs. It was truly an unforgettable experience working with them.Their talented teams presented vision boards at the beginning of the planning process, but nothing could have prepared us for the gorgeous transformation of our Emerald and Vashon rooms. This year’s theme, “Emerald City'', elegantly intertwined green and gold hues, tying together the balance of nature and city life of the Pacific Northwest.
Our culinary and pastry teams look forward to crafting unique and innovative menus for the showcase every year. Our Chef Manager, Nick Webber, says, “We try to incorporate the seasons to guide us in what we put on the menu. In this case, we were taking inspiration from El Niño to help us and highlight some of the foods that will be available when a lot of our events will be occurring. Ultimately, we mostly put things on the menu that we like to eat.” One of those things being our Butterscotch Pot De Cremes with Salted Cashew Cookies, a favorite dessert of ours since 2017. We were pleasantly surprised by the obsession with them at the showcase!
Another fan favorite at the showcase was the Flamin’ Mai Tai, our signature cocktail featuring rum, lime juice, orange liqueur, house-made orgeat, and a flaming sugar cube. Yeah, woah. This was served in our Studio and enticed guests to explore downstairs. This space is included with booking the Vashon Room and is perfect for your guests to mingle and play at our pool table.
But what we love most of all about this annual event is the ability to reconnect with our friends in the industry, make connections with potential clients, and just meet new people. We were happy to hear from our Event Manager Libby Williamson, that she “received wonderful feedback from vendors and guests that they loved this experience and couldn’t wait for next year’s event.” We’re also counting down the days until next year!
The Hall at Fauntleroy is a longtime favorite venue for local spring auctions and other fundraisers throughout the year. If you’re planning your 2024 or 2025 auction or gala, contact us to see how the Hall and Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering could help your organization meet (or exceed!) their fundraising goals.
